LifeLink: A Brief History
The vision that drives LifeLink Church grew out of a sense of Holy Spirit induced unrest with the business-as-usual American Church of today. This stirring of unrest was shared by several couples who began meeting regularly for worship, planning, and prayer. As they sought God together, they pled with Him to reveal His will and direction for them as a local body of passionate Christ followers.
God heard their cry and began revealing His will to them in amazing, tangible, and undeniable ways. An investor purchased the former campus of the Mennonite Brethren congregation located on New Hope Road. One of the ladies in the group emailed this man, telling him that she was part of a small but committed group that was seeking a campus in which to grow. He responded with a gracious and generous five-year lease offer. The offer was not only gracious; it was too good to be refused!
This small group began meeting in their recently acquired home on Sunday, July 28th, 2019. For the next nine weeks they met to worship, pray, train, plan and learn on Sunday mornings, and then work tirelessly throughout the week cleaning, painting, mowing, trimming, marketing, and preparing for launch. During those nine weeks, three more couples and two singles joined the pre-launch team.
LifeLink’s date-of-birth was Sunday, September 22nd, 2019. By early March of 2020 the church family had more than doubled in size and there was a joyful spirit of anticipation in the air. Then Covid-19 hit, and the remainder of 2020 became a super faith-building obstacle course. During the trying months God pruned away much of the growth and lovingly built up the faith, love, hope and strength of the core that held to His vision for the LifeLink family.
God has faithfully provided at every step of this young church’s journey. He has blessed the congregation with an inspiring worship team that is not only wonderfully talented, but more importantly, is in love with their Savior, Jesus Christ. The Holy Grounds Café team prepares and serves an amazing array of foods each and every Sunday. It is a great, high-energy place to hang out with others and enjoy wonderful food and fellowship following the Sunday morning worship celebration.
LifeLink exists to connect people with God and each other.
